The .cat Foundation adheres to the 5G Barcelona initiative

The incorporation of the Fundació .cat to 5G Barcelona will allow to do research about the value added services that Internet domains can provide

Today, the president of Fundació .cat, Carles Salvadó, and the CEO of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Carlos Grau, have signed the adhesion of .cat to 5G Barcelona, an initiative promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the City Council of Barcelona, Mobile World Capital Barcelona, i2CAT, CTTC, Atos and the UPC. 5G Barcelona works to position Barcelona and Catalonia as an innovative and open environment for the validation and adoption of 5G technologies and applications in a real-life environment. The incorporation of the Fundació .cat to 5G Barcelona will allow to do research about the value-added services that can be provided by Internet domains.

5G technology will facilitate the digital transformation of society, as it provides access to the Internet of things and will allow new innovative services to improve the quality of life of people. This is a shared goal for .cat: convert Barcelona and Catalonia into a digital hub of European reference in the field of 5G.
