The Wapps.cat will award the prizes at an online gala on 20 May
The presentation of the winners of the eleventh edition of the Wapps.cat competition for the creation of websites and applications is about to take place. The gala will be held on 20 May and, due to the pandemic, will not be in person, but will be followed online and in 3D, via this link. The gala will be presented by the physicist and science communicator Dani Jiménez.
We already know who has won the prize for the most voted project (the winning school was Eiximenis, from Girona, with the group EixArquitectura), we will have to wait until May 20th to know the rest of the prizes.
Even with the difficulties imposed by the pandemic times, the call has once again been a success: 41% more participants have applied than last year, reaching 1,672 registered groups, from 183 educational centres spread over 99 localities within the Catalan-speaking territories. A total of 1,342 different domains have been presented, so the jury is having a lot of work to reach a deliberation.
Wapps.cat is aimed at pupils from the last cycle of primary school (10-11 years) to Higher Level Training Cycles (+18). It is a project of the .cat Foundation that aims to strengthen the digital skills of children.
