First edition of the El Temps de les Arts Awards
The digital portal El Temps de les Arts is organising the first edition of Premis El Temps de les Arts, with the aim of stimulating innovative culture in all Catalan-speaking territories and recognising the talent of creators and projects in five artistic fields: Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Music, Architecture and Heritage.
The awards ceremony will be directed by film director and screenwriter Lluís Danés and will be very special: for the first time ever, all the Catalan-speaking television stations and their respective radio stations will broadcast the awards ceremony live on Sunday, 20 June, starting at 11:10 p.m. on TV3, Catalunya Ràdio, IB3, À Punt TV, TV Andorra and Alguer Catalan TV.
The event will be decentralised and the awards will be presented at various locations throughout the Catalan-speaking territories: at the Llotja de Barcelona, the Castell de Bellver (Mallorca), the neo-Byzantine church of La Beneficiència (Valencia), the Palace of the Kings of Mallorca (Perpignan), the Casa de la Vall (Andorra) and the Cloister of Sant Francesc (Alghero).
Between September and December 2020, more than 500 projects were submitted to the call: 39 architecture projects, 66 heritage projects, 182 visual arts projects, 114 performing arts projects, 56 classical music projects and 75 popular music projects. The winners will receive a piece by the artist Perejaume and a prize of 3,000 euros.
